Wedged systems abound

When I got home yesterday after dentist appointment and crashed for an hour, I wanted to watch my usual evening news. It was then I learned my DTV DVR was dead. Had to reset it at which point it began downloading new software. When it tried to reset itself, it got wedged again and had to reset it again. It's happy now, but I have a hardware problem I need to call in and likely get another unit (again). This one just fails to restart itself and always get stuck requiring me to manually push the reset button. Apparently last night it knew it was time for a software update, it reset itself and got wedged there. Great, another call to DirecTV.

Control Center paged me at 0637 as the events calendar was down again, but Sid was already on it and restarted it. Don't know yet what happened.

My new iPod nano got wedged for the first time this morning. I use it every morning when I get on the bus. I selected a podcast from Car Talk and as the screen wiped over to transition to playback screen..., it stopped. I had no idea what to do. It just stayed stuck there with the backlight on.

Once I got into work, a quick Google query told me how to reset these little guys by pressing the center and menu button at the same time--tada! It rebooted and is happy again.

Wow, I can see almost a little trail of wedged machines following you around...

Maybe you should touch some machines of people you don't like.
