Made it to Seattle

I'm here and I'm pooped. I've been on two planes for a total of 7 hours.

While boarding at RDU, there was gut with an entire cart of bags waiting to board--was he new?!? I heard from the other passengers behind me that the gate agent said, "Uh, no". How he thought he could bring all of those bags on..., no idea what he was thinking. At DFW there was one screaming kid that parent did not know what to do about other than just carry her around like luggage until she calmed down. Otherwise, nothing else new to report.

Was greeted by Julie and it was nice to see a friendly face after the long day. I wish I had my camera as we looked over the city, but maybe next time. I would definitely like to get a few pictures of the city from a distance at night. Perhaps I can borrow ljtourist's tripod? ;) Julie just crashed and I'm about to as well. Not sure what I'm doing tomorrow, but I'm playing it by ear and just chillin' for now. It's currently 56°F here too (and, yes, it's raining a little bit).

G'night...

Woohoo!

You can totally borrow my tripod. Three of the best places for taking photos of the skyline are a) Kerry Park, b) Alki Beach (take the water taxi), and c) a ferry ride. The last two give you similar views, but you should definitely check one of them out.

See you soon!

You'll thoroughly enjoy Seattle. I have friends who live right up the street fro Kerry Park... it is the place where they usually shoot the "trademark" shot of the city of Seattle!
It's a bit pricey, but a trip up the Space Needle is also a great place to take photos of the city!
I've never been across the bay on a ferry, but I bet you'd get some great shots as the sun going down in the afternoon.

Glad you made it safely! Give ljtourist a pat on the butt for me! :-)

You'll be able to do that (and much more, I hope) yourself at the end of October, no? :->

I will indeed be in Seattle at the end of October! I should be able to do at least a pat on the butt, although I don't know if I'll have opportunity to do more since I'll technically be on duty and accompanied by husbands. Here's hoping! :-)

Glad to hear that you arrived safely. Thank goodness for only one screaming kid. I always get placed next to the screaming kid section on a plane, at the movies, or in a restaurant.

Have fun!
