Drought worsens

Durham just entered Stage III water restrictions. In short, no more watering of lawns or plants except for early mornings and evenings on Wednesdays and Saturdays. No washing of cars either (car wash places that recycle water may still operate).

Only got 0.10" of rain while I was away last week. I just checked the Durham stream and lake levels and we're way below average, but not setting any records yet. The Flat River is down to 0.10 ft3/sec flow rate (normally 10-12 ft3/sec) and the Little River has dried up (normally runs about 3-5 ft3/sec).

Got to get some rain soon and a lot of it. We're still in the "Extreme Drought" category right now.

I'll be dropping a lot of money into the car wash machines I guess....
