Saturday night cook out

Had davegrrr, ncflyguy and J over for dinner for the first cookout on the new grill. These were Omaha steak burgers and they were quite tasty. On the side I had my Mom's recipe for macaroni and cheese (regular pkg of macaroni, 1/3 Velveeta, 2/3 Campbells tomato soup, 1 cup milk (maybe more) and bake for 30 minutes at 350). To top it off we had brownies (Pillsbury this time). Others brought chips and various adult beverages.

Had a great time chatting and we moved into the den for some time on the PS2 for some games that had not seen yet. This involved some fun with Dance Dance Revolution. ncflyguy refused to entertain us, but the rest of us had some fun. Really need to play that more. We then moved on the Gran Turismo 4 and had some fun there too. Many of them had not seen the graphics and stuff that today's games can do. It is impressive to see an old PS2 like this generate some rather spectacular graphics. Need to play more of that game too.

The others left and ncflyguy hung out while his partner was working late and just watched TV and babble about things. Great time had by all! Although, they did not take their share of brownies. That food will not stay in this home or it will drive me crazy as they will keep calling me to eat them every hour of the day. Damn, the evil brownies.

First time I've entertained in my humble abode in years and it's about time. Definitely plan on doing this more often. Over the years I've been counting on others to entertain me and that's selfish on my part. Tonight was a step in the right direction.

Glad you had a good time with the new grill. I love mine - had this one for almost 10 years now. Congrats on the social aspect as well. Don't forget Durham dinner night on Wed, and coffee on the other Wednesdays!

Oh, my, that's not nearly enough cheese! :)

You can by the Velveeta in those smaller blocks or regular sized (16oz.). It's 1/3 of the regular sized packages.

You have to experiment a bit to get it just right.

When you reheat leftovers, it helps to add a little milk to that portion too.

Thanks!
A little experimentation is fun and does help to get it right! I'm looking forward to trying it! Thanks!
