Me in SEA

I'm just getting settled in to Julie's home (cousin). I guess I got here about 2130 this evening.

As mentioned earlier, the flight out of RDU was delayed for ATC imposed delays into ORD. Fortunately AA 425 goes all the way to SEA, so no connections to make. It did suck coming into ORD as they wanted to rapidly turn the plane around to catch up. This meant we were only parked at the gate for about 25 minutes which was just long enough to get everyone off and board everyone else on for the next leg. So, no time to get food and I have another 4.5 hours ahead of me. :( Bought a sandwich (a very good one, actually) and a cookie for $8 and I needed that.

Finally got to SEA at 2000 (an hour late), got my bags and the search for a taxi began. This was probably the worst part of the day. trying to find that taxi stand was a nightmare. You had to go up 1 floor, go over the street, go back down 1 floor only to find no signs for a taxi anywhere. After some more hunting around, I found it 10 minutes later. Of course, my snowboard tube won't fit, so they have to hail a van and one shows up in a minutes. Fare was about $48--ugh--but he got me there and it is quite a drive. Still a helluvalot cheaper than staying somewhere else, so no biggie. I did my part for the SEA economy.

So, I'm just relaxing, catching up on personal email and LJ and then off to bed.

Hey, I used to work for the airlines. City codes just come natural to me as well as ATC, EQP, ETA, ETO, ATA, NN, SABRE..., you name it. There are so many acronyms in the airline industry.

If you need clarification, let me know. :p
