Last day of snowboarding at Whistler

The weather today was beautiful with sunny skies. I do like my bad weather and snow, but it was nice to actually see where the slopes were for a change. It also allowed for several beautiful photos to be taken that were impossible yesterday.

We were sort of all over the place and I did get out on my own. I mainly wanted to explore new areas of the mountains (something that would take many, many days to accomplish). Weather at the base got well above freezing allowing things to thaw and melt and made for mashed potatoes. On top it stayed below freezing, but the slopes that remained hidden from the sun were bit icy and crusty.

I did get into Symphony Bowl that was just immense. If there were some great powder in there, it would have been heaven. The bowls (large, cupped areas of snow and few trees if any) were just incredible and not all that possible to capture on camera, but I did try. I got there late as they were closing down that section of the mountain and could simply not explore as much as I wanted to.

We are all sad that this as our last day. However, our bodies were really speaking back to us today. We were all very sore and exhausted. There's no way we could have done another day of skiing and riding. Tomorrow morning we pack up and head back to Seattle. I fly from SEA to RDU on Thursday morning. Julz will be around tomorrow evening and hope to catch up with her tomorrow night.

Here are a two few of my favorite pics of the day...

Still many, many more photos to add to my set on flickr, so stay tuned for that. Upload bandwidth is very limited here in the condo.

I know how it feels... the last day of skiing is always kinda bluish... at least in the heart.

Have a safe trip!

Furry Farewell
I miss my furry condo-mate! Hope you had a smooth journey back to the southland. Have been wishing every morning since that we'd wake up back in Woodrun Lodge!

Hope you have occasion to journey back out here to the best coast some time sooner vs. later.

On my way into yet another exciting meeting here at Expedia. Big furry hugs and smooches.

Re: Furry Farewell
Awww, thanks, Eric! I miss you guys too! It was a little rough getting back, but nothing a little ibuprofen and some rest couldn't fix.

I'm sure I will be visiting out there on occasion. I really like the area out there and miss my cousin, Julie.

No meetings today as I'm off to Cancun tomorrow. :)
