Back to Seattle

I'm please to report that I'm back in Seattle this evening at Julz home. While it was sad to leave Whistler, we had to leave sometime. Had a great breakfast, some last minute shopping and hit the road. The weather was completely clear again today and we took in the views on the way back and snapped a few more photos (will be uploaded later). Vancouver is very interesting place to travel through (Duane took the long way through the city on the way back). At the US border we spent nearly an hour in line. It seemed to be caused by one particular car that had "issues" and when they finally directed them off to to the special location the line moved much faster. Great views of Mount Baker as well which is supposed to be a great place for snowboarding and gets a helluvalot of snow.

Huge thanks to pharmbear for playing cruise director! He found the the beautiful condo for us and already thinking about next year. He is such a nice guy and such a warm personality. He bitches and moans about how old he is, but we all ust roll our eyes as if to say, "Get over it!" He also picked up a great new phrase from me from back home: Shut it! :)

Eric and Duane are a wonderful couple. Eric is not your average bear. He's the extroverted one in the group, very animated, loves to poke fun at folks in a loving way, very attentive to his bear and just a great personality. Duane is another wonderful guy to get to know. Sure, he's a little on the introverted side (like me), but he warms up quickly to you. He's more subtle in getting his point across, but he always does it with a smile on his face. Duane is also known as the chauffeur (he drove us from Seattle to Whistler and back) and Eric as the tour guide of the Blackcomb and Whistler mountains (since he's been there many times before).

I truly enjoyed their company and I hope to do it again very soon. The sarcastic wit and banter between us brought all of us many laughs. These are some fine new friends and I'm glad to include them in my life. Special thanks to pharmbear for picking up on my plan for some snowboarding buddies this season. This snowboarding trip will be one to remember for a lifetime.

I fly back to RDU tomorrow at 0900 and hope to be home by 2000. A few days of rest and then off to Cancun next week starting Tuesday! I'm trying to catch up on LJ.
