Tonight was out monthly BMW dinner and was shocked to see a brand new 135i pull into the parking lot...

Leith BMW brought this out for the group to share. Someone jokingly asked if they could drive it and the sales rep said it was no problem and handed them to keys on his own. :) Several people took a quick test drive around the block including myself. This 135i has the sport package and was a manual. I think the engine has 300HP. When you put the pedal to the floor you are PRESSED back in your seat! While it was stiff, it was very comfy with bumps in the road and such. This is an awesome car. It's like a compact 3-series, but even more fun. Some hate the body work, but I'm so in love with the bodywork, particularly up front.
This was quite a sweet surprise this evening and thank to Leith BMW for bringing out this wonderful little car. He was thoroughly impressed on how much we admired it and appreciated it.

My Mom's 335i is literally no fun at all to drive with traction control off. One tire fire out of every corner with zero acceleration. It's what persuaded me to just go find another E46 M3. :(
Hopefully the dreaded i-drive was left out of this model as well?

I had a very polarized relationship with my one and only BMW so far ... a early 90s 325i coupe. 90% of the time it was wonderful; 10% it was dead (and undergoing *very* expensive resucsitation ;)).
When in San Diego last weekend I got the chance to take a short trip in my friend Robert's new 328xi (http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Vehicles/2008/3/328xiSportsWagon/default.aspx). Wow ... I was impressed.
The plan is to downsize after the Volvo is traded in, though so I was focusing on the Audi A3 and the Volvo C70. This will be added to the list!
