I'm really looking forward to GT5 Prologue coming out and there is one other game I'm interested in. Driving is my thing here and will likely dominate all other games I have.
Anyway, I think I've selected the best system for what I need, but wanted to check for any catches I might be missing. Amazon has a PS3 40GB unit for $400. My plans for the PS3 are to use it for gaming and playing DVD's/Blu-ray discs only. I know the 40GB unit will not play PS2 games and will keep my old PS2 console for now (I have plenty of inputs into my system for that). I don't plan on using any other multimedia features as my apple TV takes care of that.
Anything else I should consider before guying this? Other essential accessories? The $400 price tag appears to be a great price for this unit, agreed?

Personally, since there's so little PS3 exclusivity anymore I won't be able to rationalize the purchase for myself for another few years, but if you don't have a Blu-Ray player that alone makes it a sensible investment.
I'm not a big gamer and I have less than 5 games total right now. I have not played my driving games as much because I just don't have the right equipment, but I'm working on that too.
