I canceled my Toronto trip

I've been mulling it over and over again in my head and I just had to make a decision now and not put it off any longer. I never booked anything yet, so nothing to really cancel on this end other than make sure chernocub know that I won't be staying in the hotel with him.

I'm really not excited about going to a place for a few days surrounded by large crowds in a place I'm not familiar with. I would also prefer to spend more quality time with my friends jongrizzman and bigredlug at another date when it's not so crazy. Maybe next year, but I just need to pass at this point. There was the issue of having to spend $500 for an airline ticket right now and me blowing my budget last month. So, that was another good reason to back off of this.

This does free me up for encampment and I am doing that, 20-28 June. It's at MCAS (Marine Corps Air Station) Cherry Point for the 3rd year in a row. They tried Fort Bragg again, but they had no billeting for 125 cadets yet again. Appears I will be the Commandant of Cadets this year and that should work out. The current one had something else critical come up and can't stay the entire week. Commandant is one of the most critical jobs at a Civil Air Patrol encampment, but it's one I've done many times and perfectly fine with it.

Or just make a crazy, unplanned trip to Slovenia. Now THAT would really be something exotic. :)

I've only attended one Pride event in SF and found the crowd to be a bit much. I much prefer quality time with much smaller groups of friends.

Kudos to you for going through with encampment this year. Commandant of Cadets has a nice ring to it, Joe! :)
