More things to fix

Well, last night the garage door finally bit the dust. It's been giving me grief for years and finally the torsion bar has jammed hard and won't budge. Fortunately I was able to detach the cables, open the door and get the car out of there. Since this is a Wayne-Dalton door and torsion bar, I called them up and scheduled an appointment for Friday afternoon. Looking at about $200. I know not to mess with a torsion bar--I have limits.

Otherwise, I'm int a rather mellow mood. No major drama, and learning to ignore the things better that annoy me. This is all good.

Sister had nothing but problems with Wayne-Dalton doors and openers, just an FYI.

I'm glad you know your limits. Garage doors can be flat out dangerous to work on. I had a spring shoot off of the garage door at a duplex I rented when I moved out of my parent's place. What a pain in the butt.

Nice to read that you're in a mellow mood. You've had your share of drama with Black Board here recently. You deserve a mental break.

Sleep well,

And to think I thought the garage door just didn't like me :)

Glad to hear all is mellow otherwise!

Oh, yeah, I fixed that problem when I got home. Took me awhile to figure it out, but somehow you managed to press and hold the "lock" button on the pad which locks out all wireless remotes. Just had to press it to unlock again. :p

I'd love to tell you that THIS is the reason I rent. The actual reason is that we're moving...but that's another entry.

I love having a home, I hate the repairs.

The equity I've made on this home over the past 10 years (about 35%) more than offsets the repairs. This $200 repair is a drop in the bucket.
