Garmin update already?

Yay, Map Update 2009 from Garmin is out. Just got mine today from Amazon for $56. Seems like I just updated my GPS a few months ago. I'm very glad to see the nice Mac support coming from Garmin. Map Update 2008 was the first time they officially supported Mac and it continues with this product with a link to many other new Mac applications for getting more out of your Garmin. GPS is good to go for encampment coming up now.

And, no, you can't copy the DVD. When you run the software it links the serial number of the GPS device to the serial number of the software and registers this online (you have to be online for this to work, obviously).

So what is the scoop on how up to date the maps are for the Triangle? How about 540 at each end? Any other items you noticed?

Good point. I just took at look at that. It now extends I-540 from 55 to 64, so that's an improvement. Not sure what else to look at to see what has improved.

When you get the update, be prepared for it to take up to an hour. It will need a software upgrade. After that upgrade and you start the map update process you can walk away while it does its thing.

Absolutely. The DVD works on Mac or PC.

WebUpdater from Garmin also works on both Mac and PC.

We have a Magellan Roadmate 2000. I love it, but I hate Magellan support completely. I had to hang up on them twice last week.

I've never updated ours and we've had it for about 2 years. I need to hook it up to a Windows machine and see what I can do with it.
