FedEx sucks

I finally got my new gaming/racing chair from Obutto and this is how I found it...

Yeah, it was distended on all sides, major gouges on all sides, gobs and bogs of tape added, etc. I don't know how that box even made it here. I went ahead and opened it up since much of it is steel, but it looks like some of them were bent and critical parts are missing (likely through the large holes all over the box).

FedEx dropped it off without my signature, so it's their liability. I sure as hell would not have signed for this. I'm don't know why they even bothered to deliver it in this condition. I've opened up a claim and contacted Obutto for further instructions on what to do next.

Was really looking forward to trying out this new chair. Grrrrrr...

Wow, what assholes.

I too have a shitty FedEx story, but it's too long. It involves a live animal too!

Damn, an animal treated like this? I'm sure it was a quick death.

GRRRRRR! This kind of thing really burns me up! He dropped it off knowing you wouldn't sign for it. It was a drop and run!

Yeah, I doubt the last drop he made did any more damage. I did get word from Obutto and he told me he got 6 reports of deliveries just like this today from other customers. He's not too happy. He was glad I took the pictures and will be using them to bitch out FedEx.

just to put things in perspective, the fedex guy doesn't know if anything is missing or damaged. unless the shipper requested a signature, he's going to leave it. if he doesn't and nothing was damaged or missing, then you don't have your package. at least you have it and if necessary can file a claim. also, kind of interesting that 6 other people had the same problem. only thing common about the 6 shipments was the shipper and fedex. unless fedex damages every shipment, then it seems like the shipper didn't do a good job of packaging and using a strong enough box. same thing happens with UPS, DHL, etc so it's not just fedex.

This kind of customer service from FedEx is definitely not the norm. UPS tends to deliver party damaged packages almost all the time (we won't mention how they lose them either, save that for another day).

I think because this was FedEx Ground, they tend not to get a signature. The FedEx guy had to know it was damaged though. Parts were protruding through the box. The only way I could get the box in the house was to "roll" it in.

As for the 6 reports, the guy was quite surprised. It was part of a big shipment that went out (they ship hundreds of these things). Sounds like a small portion of them got damaged/dropped/fell..., something closet to the origination point in Seattle.

that is so shitty! I have never turned away anything without signing yet but mysteriously an item I had that came damaged was also dumped at the door and after tracking the item my signature was forged by the courier company to just leave it there lol!

hope you get a lovely new one!

Amazingly little was damaged, but I was missing some parts to complete the assembly. He is overnighting a hardware package to me (and 5 other customers who had the same experience today!).

Well I hope that wasn't sitting outside of your house the entire time you were out of town. Bitches man! Bitches!!!

Crap! That suffocates.

I'm surprised that FedEx did that. The packages they deliver to me always seem so pristine. UPS, on the other hand... wow.

Heh, reminds me of the conspicuously boot-shaped imprint that I had on the side of one of my packages in college, as thought it were drop-kicked onto the shelf.

Nice Box
Nice Box...

It is amazing how any nick nack in a store in wrapped in 5 inches of plastic and packing materials. Still, something being shipped is hardly wrapped.
