I did not do much at all today. Seems everyone else was wiped out from yesterday, so no get togethers today. This is the hump day of my vacation, so no worries. Weather was pretty cloudy at first, but later had clear blue skies. There was a beautiful sunset this evening, but there were so many wires in the way that a camera shot would not have worked out.

Julie (cousin) came home and was very happy and giddy. Why? She's engaged! :) She's one happy cousin right now and I'm so happy for her. Craig proposed to her last night and she said yes immediately.

So, I finally got my ass off of the couch and was determined to get some night shots of Seattle. The best and eaiest place is Dr. Jose Rizal State Park. Out of 30 pictures, 10 were keepers. Here was the favorite...

DSC_0029

All of these pictures were added to my Seattle set, or you can see them at the top of my photostream on flickr.

Exposure times range from 15-30" and my only complaint is that I wished they came out a little sharper. I'm thinking a larger aperture lens (which I had with me, but did not use) would have shortened the exposure time and then maybe things would be sharper.

Plans for tomorrow is some hiking around Seattle and a little more challenging hike at Wallace State Park or Mount Rainier.

I sooooo wish my camera would allow me to do time exposures. maybe if I pressed the shutter button real slow?

Were you over by Amazon.com building? (that'd be on the northern end of Beacon Hill, south side of the city)

It's right across the street (ok, that's what my cousin says, anyway). Very easy to find (if not obvious).

Long exposures are a good thing.

This picture was almost too easy. I should have experimented more.
