In Jacksonville, FL

Long day with the drive. Took about 7 hours including stopping off for a bit, but I was very glad for the drive to be over. At least I picked a good hotel--Ocean One Resort in Atlantic Beach. American Express had a great deal and it was too good to pass up. The one thing I forgot (again) was my video and audio cable so that I could hook up my laptop to the 42" TV so I could watch some of my Netflix rentals.

I am glad to be on the beach and may do a quick walk out there before I go to bed. As for now, my body is shot and I'll be in bed very soon. Only plans right now are to meet with the minister sometime tomorrow with the family.

Thanks for the phone call.
I completely forgot you were down there. Sorry I didn't ask how you were doing. My mind was elsewhere.

Don't even give it a second thought. I'm good down here. I just need rest. You've got way too much to worry about right now with your travel and Ike. We've actually got some of the weather up here right now from Ike (well, indirectly).

A walk on the beach sounds great. I'm always reminded how insignificant my worries are when walking along something as grand as the ocean.

You must be pooped, Joe. Take advantage of the solitude and get some rest tonight.

You're in my thoughts,

I never did make it to the beach this evening. I started catching up on LJ and have not put down the laptop since. I'm here for several days, so I will find my beach time--rest assured. :)

That's cool. The beach will be there when you're ready for it. Sometimes, a guy just needs to unwind in other ways. Catching up with your mates is good in my book.

Great hearing from you this morning. Have a good day, Joe.

*Hugs and smooches ya back*

First: [Hugs]. Glad you made it safely.

Next: When you get home, consider putting together a cable-baggie for your laptop bag. I've got one in mine that contains a cat-5 cable, my iPod USB cable, the monitor adapter, and the power bricks for my cellphones when I travel; you could have the a/v cable there too. If I'm going internationally I'll throw in an adapter kit. I used to keep a retractable RJ11 phone cable back in the day, but that's been gone for a while now. If it's always in the laptop bag, I won't forget it.

First, I am so sorry to hear about your grand-dad.
Second - if you need anything: mail picked up, check on the house etc, while you are down there feel free to call me. I would be more than happy to help in anyway so that your focus can remain where it needs to be.
Lastly, even if you just need to vent, my phone works 24/7.

Many hugs and kisses,
Todd
