Day 3 of Jackson Hole

We had some great snow last night. I still had some soreness this morning from a pressure point I'm dealing with in m left boot, but I toughed it out and headed out anyway for a full day. Temperature was +16°F this morning (that's 30 degrees more than yesterday morning!). There were many ungroomed trails out there which allowed for a lot of powder skiing on the mountain. The mountain was still a challenge, but my skills definitely went up today as I got more aggressive with some of the more difficult terrain.

The weather was pretty crazy, but it usually is here. At the base the temperature got to about 30°F and it was very calm with a few flurries. At the top it was 15°F, windy, heavy snow, blowing snow..., very stormy. It was still warmer than yesterday.

I also got the opportunity to get some pics this time and I've posted them as a separate photo set on Flickr. I will be updating that the rest of the week hopefully adding more pictures. I really wish I could truly capture the images here, but it's just not possible with my compact camera and the weather makes for numerous challenges as well.

I'm off to bed now as we're heading out for a snowmobile trip to the canyon of Yellowstone. I'm so not looking forward to getting up at 5:00am though.

Wow, that is a totally different perspective when you are sitting on the snow! Cool pix!
