Road trip: More of Chicago IL

I had a slow start to the day, but I got quite a few things in and I'm pooped. I actually walked 6 miles today according to my pedometer which surprised me.

Started off trying to figure out how to get on train to downtown and found mikiedoggie's work place so that we could grab lunch. He took us to Giordano's nearby and it was excellent. We also snapped lots of pictures of each other (it's a gay, quirky, photographer thing--don't ask). He posted an entry about this earlier today with a few pics of me.

Next I hit the Skydeck of the Sears Tower. The day ended up being really clear, so it was easy to see for miles in all directions. I took several photos and will see how those came out later on. Cost was only $13.00 and we were limited to the 99th floor due to construction on the 103rd floor (I did not know they had two observation decks).

After the Sears Tower I walked over to the bean where (I posted an entry earlier today via my BlackBerry. I realize now that it was hard to tell what I was standing in front of. I hope most of my pictures came out. I was really trying to play off the reflections of the city in the bean. I did some more walking up Michigan Avenue, more pictures and then finally back home.

Next was traveling to see one of my best friends from high school, Terry, and his family. We had a great time catching up on what's been going on in our lives as well as reminiscing about the old times. He's aging better than I am too--grr. After a few hours I came back from Plainfield. Garmin took me straight up I55 and then Lakeshore Drive was I did not know was so spectacular at night. I would have stopped to take pictures, but I was not sure where I was, where to park legally and it was getting cold.

I was going to go through my pictures, but I'm too tired and it's too late (I took over 200 today). Tomorrow I head up to Madison WI to see actorguy1 and geometrician. Plan is to leave around noon on Thursday.
