Back to some more cooking, beef stew

Wanting to continue to culinary skill building, I upgraded to a new crock pot that is 6 quarts and programmable. That means I can prepare some of the larger recipes now and I can program the crock pot to shutoff at a specific time and it falls back into warm mode. It also has a probe to measure the meat temperature too and shutdown based on that. No more silly appliance timer and making sure I get home from work in time to catch it while it's warm.

Today is beef stew from the Campbell's Kitchen website. This is my first time with mincing fresh garlic (easier than I thought it would be), working with fresh onions, thyme and bay leaves. Since I got started to s late I went for the HIGH option on the cooker to have it ready in time for dinner (takes 5 hours on high temp).

Yep, I'm stocked. Beef stew made up 6 servings. I ate one obviously this evening, 3 in the fridge and 2 more in the freezer. I stocked up from the store today. I don't anticipate I'll be on any weird diet post-surgery.

Oooh, I need to get the pass from you!
