As of last Friday I weighed in at 165. I haven't been in the 160's in many, many years. I'm losing about 1 lb. per week, but not this last week, but no surprise there since I ate more than I burned calorie wise, so no biggie. I had to go shopping yesterday for new pants since my khakis sized at 36 were way too baggy, so I was able to to shop for 34W this time--awesome. Jeans are not quite there yet, but almost. Goal is to reach 155 and maintain that. When I get there, I'll be pretty happy and I'll be able to splurge a little bit with food if I maintain my activity.

Right now my daily goal is to burn 2500 calories and consume no more than 2000. That allows me to lose about 1 lb./week. I'm still using the GoWear fit device from BodyMedia. It's given me the ability to track my calorie burn 24x7. Entering all my meals is not fun (especially when you procrastinate and then struggle to remember what you wate 48 hours ago). It's still been worth it though. I have control over my weight because I know how many calories are going in and how much of that I'm burning.

Diet wise I've simply been moderating my foods. I no longer have 10 Oreo cookies for dessert, no more candy bars, no more bagels and donuts and no more TV dinners that have a whopping 1000 calories (or all of my fat and sodium for the entire day in one meal). I'm just easting more sensibly and the right portions. I could be doing better by eating more salads, but my IBS really flares up with lettuce unfortunately.

A great book to help on that front has been Eat This, Not That! Supermarket Survival Guide. This has really opened my eyes even more on the bad things I've been eating (and why) and finding good alternatives. It's an excellent reference to keep handy for anyone.

I'm still walking a lot. I think many of my friends and family would be amazed how much better off they would be if they just walked at least 30 minutes, 3 times per week. I want to do more, but my shoulder is slowing me down there and I just have to wait that out. If people just got a pedometer (Amazon has one for $24 and works great) and set a goal of 5,000 steps/day (minimum), they would be so much better off. Yes, I'm talking to you. :p

I'm with you on the lettuce though. I really miss a good salad. I find I can tolerate a little bit of lettuce if I have some bread along with it.
