Tire replacement

OK, so I need to follow-up on this pronto as I have no spare tire at this time (fortunately my car has a full size spare) as result of the nail from a few weeks ago (and being gone the last 10 days).

I'm having a hard time finding a replacement tire/size: Falken ST-115 205/55R16 94V. Current tires are down to about 7/32 on the tread so they still have life, though significantly worn since last time. So, while there may not be a problem, I'm still reluctant to slap a brand new tire on there and have it put stress on the AWD system with the different diameters.

I'm looking to buy a new tire and look at shaving it down to the same thickness as the other tires. Is that something local shops do? So local shops usually do a good job at that? Need to work on some other resources and research this, but needs to be soon.

The only shops that shave tires are race shops or shops that cater to racers.

Great. Got a call into one of our local and trusted BMW mechanics for his input and waiting for feedback.
