Teeth and fur

Had dentist appointment this morning to replace a filling that was cracked. I was 10 minutes late--what was I thinking that it would only take 20 minutes to drive there? In and out of there in 30 minutes. Been four years since I've had a drill taken to my teeth, but quickly reminded how unpleasant it was.

I decided this morning to grow a beard and see how it goes. In the past when I have tried this it gets itchy after 4 days and drives me insane. Will try again and keep it for several weeks if I can stand it. I don't like the gray that grows in and will see if I can tolerate that too.

Every time I shave my face, I inevitably leave it for a couple days after no more than 1-2 weeks of upkeep, and it gets really irritated, and then I swear I'll never shave again, and promptly grow my beard back.

Sometime 18-24 months later I decide to try again and the same thing happens each time.

Oh well.

Speaking of beards, what's that funny stuff under your chin?

The first time I saw the title I immediately thought of fur growing from your teeth. Ewwww.

Anyway, the dentist has gotten to where it's not a big deal. The last time I had a filling, I nearly fell asleep in the chair. With all the dental work and bone grafting I went through I guess that it pretty much takes an ice pick to make me flinch in a dentist's chair.

Now, you with a beard? Hmmm, that will be weird. Not bad weird, just weird.

I have to admit that was deliberate to get everyone's attention. And it worked!!! :)

cheers on the dental bravery... I've fallen out of the habit and need to find a good dentist but it's not exactly something I look forward to!

I'm all for the beard experiment. I also am at a point where my beard is the grayest hair on me for some reason. It's an exercise in tolerance to see it growing in, but I try to remember the saying: "Growing old is better than the only alternative"

My dentist of choice is Dr. Wilkie. He has an office near Cary Parkway/Kildaire in Cary and I440/Six Forks in Raleigh. He's been in this business for close to 20 years I think now. Our family has been going to them since 1990. He costs a little more, but does really good work and the staff there is like family.
