Data center move postponed

As part of the building of the new ITS Manning building, they were constructing a new steam tunnel to upgrade the infrastructure. They have these huge valves that are like 3' in diameter for the chilled water. They are constantly leaking and are still unable to resolve the problem. Without those valves working properly, they cannot supply chilled water to our new building. We're running on a portable chiller right now, but if the power goes out we lose chilled water leaving us only minutes before the room overheats even though we have days of generator power available to the servers. So, no servers can move yet.

They're saying they may delay the move until spring break, but not sure. Oh well, at least we don't have to work on 12/30 (Sat) when our big move was planned. People might still be able to move in January.

uh, uh, Might I suggest some bubble gum & duct tape? Or the other best way to ignore the problem, install a drain system. ;)

Yikes, that bites. True you have your New Years free, but I would rather have Spring Break. :(

Hoping!
I know the "joys" of project delays and sometimes they really work out for the best. So here is hoping for the best!

Re: Hoping!
Thanks! It does ease the stress a bit for this week. The logistics in planning have been a nightmare. However, I can't help but think that I am just delaying the inevitable. :/
